Which Nordic airport is best for SAS saver awards?
Where SAS saver seats are easiest to find from Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland, and when a positioning flight is worth it.
The big hubs have the most saver days
In October 2026, Oslo, Copenhagen and Aalborg had the highest share of departure days with saver prices of the Nordic airports AwardWings checks, at around half of all days with flights. Regional Norwegian airports such as Trondheim, Stavanger, Tromsø and Ålesund were lower, at roughly 35 to 42 percent.
The pattern is simple: more departures mean more chances for a saver seat. The AwardWings saver award report updates these numbers from the SAS calendar every night.
When a positioning flight pays off
If your home airport has no saver seats on the dates you want, check Oslo, Copenhagen or Stockholm. A short domestic flight can unlock a long-haul saver award that saves many thousands of points.
Count the full cost: the extra flight, its taxes, the connection time and the risk if the first flight is late on a separate ticket.
- Compare saver days from two or three airports
- Leave a long connection on separate tickets
- Include the feeder flight’s points or cash price
- Check baggage rules for both tickets
How to compare airports quickly
The AwardWings saver explorer shows every destination with saver seats from one airport in a month. Switch between airports to see where your points go furthest before you run a live search.
For a single route, the route pages list saver days and the lowest price month by month in both directions.
