SAS saver awards to New York with EuroBonus
How to find SAS saver seats from Scandinavia to New York: which airports to check, what it costs in points, and when seats are easiest to find.
Which flights to look at
SAS flies to the New York area from Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm, and lands at Newark (EWR) as well as JFK. Search both airports: saver seats often appear on one and not the other on the same day.
Copenhagen usually has the most departures, so it also tends to have the most saver days. A short positioning flight from Bergen, Stavanger or Trondheim can open dates that are not available from your home airport.
What a saver award costs
In October 2026 the lowest saver price in the SAS calendar between Copenhagen and Newark was 30,000 EuroBonus points one way per adult, plus taxes and charges. Days without saver seats cost much more, often several times as many points.
Prices and seats change every day. The AwardWings route pages show the current saver days and lowest prices for each month, checked with SAS every night.
- Compare Newark and JFK on the same dates
- Check the return on its own, not only as a round trip
- Count the taxes, not only the points
- Search the real number of travelers before you plan
When seats are easiest to find
Saver seats are usually easier outside school holidays. Around Christmas and New Year the share of days with saver prices drops sharply on most SAS routes.
If the date you want has no saver seats, watch the route. AwardWings emails you when new saver days open, so you do not have to search every morning.
